I absolutely agree -- but there's a weird vibe with this popping up during the middle of discourse about authors leaving themselves 5 star reviews, which is a mostly pointless way of expressing it. (Not your fault! Just a strange juxtaposition)

This is something I wrestle with. It’s my hope that everyone enjoys their own work, or at the very least, is encouraged enough by their progress to keep working at their chosen craft. An artist (of any kind) is usually their own first and most passionate fan.
