Honestly, seeing people find out in the wild that New York City has giant mounds of trash bags ten feet high along every sidewalk in the city three or four times a week is one of the great pleasures of the internet. Yes, the entire city. Every trash day. Looks like this. For real, not a joke.

August. We signed our 8yo up in August for the week she just completed as a brand-new camper. And TBH, we will probably be signing her up in the next few days for next year to guarantee her spot.

Yeah, we are planning to do separate dental. But the Standard for families is over $800/month! 😱 I previously paid $0/month so the shock is breathtaking. I’m leaning towards the GEHA plans, they offer a lot of similar things to my previous. Telehealth is *amazing!*

Yeah, the kids thing makes it all insanely expensive for the excellent-everything coverage (which is what I had before). So we have to balance all the benefits so we can afford it.

Oh wow! I’ve got a ton of it in the house for the kids, it was the only stick kind we could get. I should try it next time I go out in the sun. (Which will not be for days, even this heat is aggravating my skin ugh).

It’s the generic version of Atarax, whatever that is. Sometimes I get really bad itchy skin in the winter and it helps take the edge off, too. I can only take it at bedtime, it knocks me out. (An added benefit, as my anxiety is worst at bedtime and I sleep like shit from aging and stress lately).

I’ve never heard of this or a hot spoon either! I used to get HUGE welts from mosquito bites. Now only occasionally, but often they’re small and intensely itchy for at least a week. Hm….

Oh yes. I’ve been marred by them before. Imagine the combination of sunburn, sun rash, AND allergic contact rash. All at once. That was my childhood visiting my grandparents in Florida every year. I’m so pale I get burnt through the sunblock.

When I first moved to Del Ray (Commonwealth Crossing!) in 2006, I thought the little pool was SO COOL and thought man, someday when I settle down in this neighborhood I could see myself bringing a family here. 🤷♀️
