Godzilla vs. Biollante is a bit overlong with too many (human) characters. That said, it's a cheesy, fun Kaiju fantasy that re-establishes Godzilla as existing in a world bigger and weirder than him alone. In short, a huge improvement over its immediate predecessor. 📽️

The 80's and 90's Godzilla movies have long been a blind spot for me, so I'm thrilled a handful popped up on Criterion. The Return of Godzilla is visually cool but kind of dull due to a tone that feels like it's trying too hard to avoid the sillier feel of the Showa era.

FWIW I suspect Biden would be more likely to gracefully step down AFTER winning the election than before. I'm not saying either is likely or impossible, but I feel like that'd be the path of least resistance for anyone whose objective is "anyone but these two guys."

If Biden steps down now, I'll support Harris or whoever. But I'm skeptical it's going to happen, and I'm skeptical it would increase the odds the democrats would win given how close we are to the election.
