They submitted a cert petition to the court for them to consider it. They can't just consider it willy nilly. DOJ shouldn't have asked SCOTUS to get involved at this point.

I guess I'm not totally understanding how the DOJ is responsible? The Tennessee parents filed in federal court, the DOJ just put their weight behind it to support the parents and doctors challenging the laws after it was already in motion. *my understanding based on what I've read

I’ve been arguing w/people for months that Biden admin & DOJ are trying to protect trans rights & have pointed to these lawsuits as evidence! It seems like these laws were always going to go to the Supreme Court & were the DOJ not suing to block them they risk even more being seen as not helping?
