The number they're saying rose by 2% was the *number* of infant deaths, not the mortality rate. That could just be due to increased population (if more people have babies and the mortality rate is the same, the number of infant deaths will go up).

Incorrect. As of this study by the CDC in 2022 neonatal mortality *rate* per 1000 live births in the US was trending up. It's not bad data, it's bad, bad fuckin people running the show.
