Ohio has basically defacto banned trans healthcare for adults using a similar strategy to why there was only a handful of abortion clinics in the entire Midwest before the Dobbs decision (TRAP laws)
cis people please repost this so this info doesn't get stuck in the queer social bubble
Important: The restrictions on non-surgical care are only proposed at this point. Which isn't to say they're not awful, but people currently receiving gender-affirming treatment shouldn't discontinue today!
I like how Ohio managed to nab a singular, miniscule W by legalizing weed last year -- only to get almost immediately piled on by massive Ls this year, primarily thanks to thunderfucks like this....
The right always uses “the children” as their cover to get a foot in the door to take away rights for entire groups and so many people don’t see that ploy. I know MI (where I am) is advertising the state as LGBTQIA friendly to states like this but people shouldn’t have to flee their home states!
My grand daughter would be negatively affected by these idiots and their ginned up outrage. Blanket political proclamations over biological matters have always worked out well, with no unintended consequences, right?
And yet, a guy with blue hair helped convince a school board in Ohio to adopt evidence based sex ed just a few years ago. Wish i had that when growing up.
Ohio is such a shit show. I thought hb 68 was shot down? Then the last voting for abortion rights won but now their also trying to change it, and before that the “special election” they had to change the constitution illegally to get abortions banned
i am going to be this guy. as a trans man/trans masc adult in Ohio (currently receiving gender affirming care) i have been following this CLOSELY.
the Ohio Department of Health got DeWine to back down on this decision for adults earlier this month (Feb 2024)
It's really easy to leave a message with the governor's office at the link in the post below. Please let them know you are against it in the strongest terms
