Getting upset about "spoilers" of things that are on the box art is definitely extreme. I don't think it's invalid to want to go into an experience as spoiler free as possible. Surprise is a valid part of the experience to a lot of people and ruining the surprise is something that can't be undone.

Someone I'm close to hates surprises and likes to spoil things for herself before she goes into it so I know that is a thing that works better for some people. Me, on the other hand, I like to keep guessing, or I want to solve video game puzzles on my own. One size doesn't fit all!
