Yup me too. Im always trying to site that falling over shack in Palo Alto that sold for $2mil or E PA schools where half the kids are homeless. As a small biz owner I want more ppl living walkable from where I am working! Ppl seem sympathetic but like, sceptical.

I was at a hairdresser conference years ago and went to a breakout w the founder of the Blind Barber- this same idea but make it Speakeasy style. Still seems to be pretty successful! Unlike the 90s when we tried 'Man Spas' w like facials and stuff. I just can't imagine the licensing nightmare.

I actually grew up with step siblings and 2 adults! But like, it was the 80s and everyone was busy and unless it was a holiday we ate in our rooms and generally avoided each other if we were home. I loved it lol.

I worked at Printer's Inc in Palo Alto in the late 80s, having been a punk kid at the Burger King on California Ave in the mid 80s, and feel like the only worst possible of the local people get all the attention in 2024. And also hope no one I grew up with went on to become a cop.

If it were me I wld try to be up high a bit at either JunÃpero Serra Museum or the Cabrillo National Monument. The San Diego Central Library has a beautiful sky view room to stay warm & dry. Storm over water view w a drink? I'd choose a mai tai @ the Bali Hai or chili mango margarita @ JRDN

Andy McCluskey was married to a client of my salon and would get his hair cut there when he was in town (and they were still married) His son was in there once as a teen and wearing a Joy Division T and looked exactly like his Dad. Totally weirded me out 😆
