I couldn't wait and just bought one but if I ever do get a chance then I'd have to use it on a cargo ebike.

I have been COOKING here in oregon. Was camping over the weekend and I did a lot of biking and lake riding and that was great, but it wiped me out. back and home and I'm still cooking since we don't have AC like most houses around here.

I can't get over how Forester's entire philosophy is "cyclists are scared, and they shouldn't be" while dismissing out of hand any safety improvements as "merely improving comfort". If someone is more comfortable, aren't they also less afraid? It's so ideologically inconsistent.

yeaaaah. limited text and all but yeah. auto theft is huge in America but other kind of theft is less of a concern, but not zero. and if I'm being honest, bike theft is also a concern so I'm being a bit unfair to cars but that's how I am :)

Cops stand to greatly benefit from road diets, bike lanes, speed bumps, and other traffic-calming measures. But surprisingly/unsurprising, they're generally not aligned with the urbanist agenda in the same way that they're not aligned with smart gun-control legislation. Shit make no sense.

For many police departments, the greatest threat to their own lives aren't the citizens they interact with--it's just the same incredibly high risk we're all subjected to: car crashes. Policing is especially dangerous in large part because they spend a large portion of their time driving.

The legitimacy of policing is again called into question when those charged with the safety of the people categorically fail to identify and advocate for proven policies/infrastructure and instead actively harm us. •busses save lives •protected bike lanes save lives •housing saves lives •& more!

cops here frequently: •ignore pedestrians at crosswalks like most motorists in my area •ignore parked cars on sidewalks •speed during non-emergencies •don't use turn signals •drive giant pedestrian-unfriendly SUVs •ignore speeders/selectively enforce how do cops harm your urbanist utopia?

•self-driving •🚫 gas station •🚫 insurance premiums •🚫 unexpected expensive maintenance $$ the city bus is ready to pick you up and drop you off at a very low cost. never worry again about where you parked or if your things are being stolen ever again. let it be someone else's problem. ride the bus

oh yeah it's absolutely going to happen. we should be getting as many people out of cars with alternatives, not lowering the age to drive.

honestly though. Not that it would feel good we improved public transit for child labor but letting them drive to enable child labor is exponentially more extreme.

Yeah. Insurance won't be enough though given the potential for destruction. I know there's a zero 0% chance a 14 year old fema wouldn't have been awful. Kids are dumb.

And yeah the types of vehicles make a world of difference. I'd hate to see a 14 year old driving a lifted truck that more resembles a monster truck than a personal mode of transportation but this law does not make that distinction

I mean there's a lot of factors at play here and laws aren't really going to align perfectly with what's safe or logical. I do get what you're saying. I think the difference here is that most these kids will be driving to work at mcdonalds in populated areas

I broke my USB-c port on my phone like a week before I got the bike so that decision was already made for me (but I also had concerns): I just wirelessly charge my phone now, which means I can't use that mount. But a bike computer is exactly my plan as well in the future.

Absolutely. Everything about this is bizarre. We're so eager for child labor that we're just going to let them drive. I was a bad driver at 18. I can't imagine how bad I would have been at 14.

thinking about congestion pricing again, and about how democratic hacks on here are denying it's a center right party / pretending it rewards the groups that consistently vote Dem. No Republicans to blame! Unified democratic failure from congress to city hall, and most of all the governor.

No, it's an axiom streamliner. The velotric rack does fit the weird mount points on the bike but I preferred this rack. I'm using a different phone mount than the one included with the bike but it fits fine on the thick bar so I can't say that's been an issue for me, but it is thick.

the one thing about the bike is it doesn't really have standard mount points for a rear rack, the two on the side should not be facing up, but the mount point I used works for a single bracket style which not many racks use. The included bracket is way too short for this bike so I had to make one.

Thanks! I absolutely love it! A big selling point for me was that it's still comfortable to ride when off. Not a lot of ebikes like this one and I hope more brands jump in on these hybrid bikes. Hope you get a lot of riding this summer with this bike!

I just try to make sure that I'm always making safe choices for myself and others when I ride and anything beyond that kind of takes some of the joy and advantages away from riding.
