9 July 1888 | A German Jew, Willy Silbermann, was born in Saalfeld. Clothing manufacturer. In June 1943 he was deported from Berlin to Auschwitz. Most probably he was murdered in a gas chamber after the selection.

Sesame Street first aired in 1969. At the grand age of 13, I was a bit old for that show. Never watched it. Heard a bit about it, but never watched it. Now The Muppet Show was a different story (and a number of years later).

9 July 1905 | Italian Jewish woman, Emma Laura Finzi, daughter of Leone and Aurelia, was born in Milan. She was arrested in October 1943. She was deported to Auschwitz from Milan on 6 December 1943. She did not survive.
