Just have to note that the black commentators I’ve seen on the Biden issue have some of the sanest takes by far.

I said to someone else the other day, this is the most insane spasm of cowardice I have seen from Democrats in my lifetime and I lived through the Reagan years. It really is like a very specific group of people had a mass hysteria event or ate moldy wheat or got a bad batch of LSD.

I wish more people understood that we’re in the midst of a global far right resurgence, as the richest people in the world cling to power.

Trying to force the issue past Biden consenting to drop out would be a total disaster in my opinion, and I definitely am not in favor of that. But it’s not impossible that his position could, uh, evolve if things get worse or there’s another public episode.

There’s nothing wrong with looking at a candidate’s fitness for office. I understand the concerns a lot of people express about Biden. I felt the same way after that miserable debate. But the discussion’s over unless Biden changes his mind, because today he made it clear that he’s not quitting.

Wish I could just celebrate the landslide victory of Labor in Britain’s election, without worrying that it’s just more of the same with a different label.

Market concentration, as well as wealth concentration has been increasing since the 80s… with a loss of traditional manufacturing base and jobs, along with the higher multiples on stocks… they want to keep that… with fascism if they must

Actually, us Biden defenders think the hardest people to reason with are those who run scared at the slightest issue, rather than having a spine and standing up to the bullshit.

Interesting that even when you try to be deliberate, specific, and thoughtful about this, some people are so ego-invested that they’ll read things into what you wrote to make up a straw man, then forcefully defeat that straw man. But whatever.

I’ve been in this business a long time and I find that when people deliberately misconstrue your words or put words in your mouth, it’s because their ego is inflamed for some reason that may have nothing to do with you.

We’ve all watched the GOP drag rapists, criminals, florid wackos, and brain-dead white supremacists to electoral victory over and over again. Perhaps the Democrats can summon up some of that energy to save our democracy and our lives.

The qualities of the candidate often do not fucking matter if the people who really want that candidate to get elected are willing to play hardball, especially if the candidate is an incumbent. Maybe, just this once, we could learn this lesson from the GOP to save ourselves from true horror.

"Some folks need killing!" he shouted. "It's a matter of necessity!"

Imagine paying someone to write these columns -- like, real money! -- on the assumption that there's an audience out there that not only *wants* to hear these pearls of wisdom but absolutely *needs* to hear them for the good of the nation. It's baffling.

It’s really disappointing to see some of the journalists I’ve respected (and there aren’t many these days) eagerly join in on the GOP/media ratfucking of Joe Biden. This is why Republicans do this shit: 1) because it works, and 2) even their targets sometimes help them do it.

So here we have a GOP gubernatorial nominee calling for followers to kill people who he claims are enemies of Christian America. How many chin-stroking pieces are we going to see about how the GOP is in real trouble now that one of its candidate is really ol--I mean violent?

When you see the way the press is treating Joe Biden for aging in public, you see how they could treat Donald Trump for committing fraud, rape, espionage, and insurrection and never, ever will.
