There has been a small and mysterious soccer ball on the front lawn for a good three days now. I assumed it belonged to the neighbour's kid but ... it's been there for three days. I'm not sure how this can be a plot but ... maybe it's a plot.

I forget who I read yesterday make the point that the Republicans unreservedly supported Reagan, who was way more obviously in decline than Biden, and his admin did well enough (from their POV) that they also elected his VP after. The self destructiveness is something to watch.
