Yeah, that would suck. Thankfully, the floor is sufficiently split to allow for *two* AC units.
I just have to rely on the bedroom one to keep the house livable while I play video games!

Yup. I think my UPS might have cost more than the portable AC unit XD

Welp, my entire office is apparently wired on one circuit.
For 98% of things, this is not a problem.
With a high end gaming PC and a portable air conditioner, though...
Yeah. If I don't turn the AC off when I start gaming, the circuit breaker goes.
Oof.

I somehow missed the crowd funding campaign for the tenth anniversary edition of the Firefly game.
On the one hand, I already have 90% of the game plus expansions.
On the other, I have no idea where that is in my basement
On the gripping, we have a Firefly game night booked... and see "other"

I joked about it beforehand, but it's still funny that I went back on medication I can't drink coffee on with:
1 new bag of ground coffee
1 new bag of beans
~40 nespresso pods
I got through half the Nespresso order at least!

Unfortunately, it looks like we're not going to make WorldCon this year.
Too many things going on for us to be able to leave the country for the planned two weeks, basically.

I finally found the missing box of dice in my basement.
410 D6es.
Why yes, I did play Shadowrun and buy new dice cubes for each character, why do you ask?

Running the Dragon AGE TTRPG, which has been on my "want-to-run" list since... uh... well, for as long as it has existed.
I have fewer potential players for things than I once did, but one of them is an absolute Dragon Age nerd so I am delighted to hit multiple purposes at once XD

Prepping to run my first in-person game in a very, very, VERY long time tomorrow.
I've played in person, but I haven't GMed in person since 2020—and haven't GMed this year at all!
Lot of printing out bits of the rulebook to give the players as reference. Plus printing the entire adventure for ref

Much as I approve of libraries going this way, I end up mourning "library as quiet space"
I tried to work in an updated library recently, and there were no quiet spaces at all.
Evolution is good, but smaller libraries especially lose the ability to have quiet corners.

Double checking as both of my editors questioned it, but, yes, hazel eye are what I think they are.
(Since I *have* them I was pretty sure, but when two / two folks question the description I do have to check)

I've seen it used as shorthand for "we've included all the costs in this project budget", ie, "we've fully costed out the new build" but that's a kind of niche finance use and probably grammatically incorrect
No one expects perfect grammar from accountants

The problem with treating mental health stuff is that the meds take weeks to take proper effect and the side-effects kick in almost immediately.
A med that doesn't work can cost me days or weeks of work.
So, of course, can *not* treating my brain-meats, so... we try and we hope things get done.

The window AC unit we bought for my office just turned out to have been broken on arrival, too.
(Because having every unit run two window AC units is going to be so much better for the transformer than 50 proper household units...)
New AC unit coming tomorrow!

Well. It is now hot enough that the lack of A/C in the townhouse is a problem. (I've had severe heat stroke several times in the past, which makes me annoyingly vulnerable to it).
Unfortunately, the board had an engineering study done which said the complex's transformer can't handle 50 AC units.

Male Terzan are the smallest of the three genders (but this is always on a curve) and tend toward jewel tones.
Neuter Terzan are mid-sized, tending toward more muted tones, often brown or red.
Female Terzan average largest, with black and white patterns.
One smaller Mother has very clearly dyed fur

The advantage of laying out the sexual tri-morphism of an alien race in chapter two is that I can be subtle in chapter three that one of them is trans.
The aliens are ruled by the Mothers, female members of the race who have raised a clutch to adulthood.
You'll what note that *doesn't* say.

I have been, by any metric, stunningly successful at converting art into money.
One form of art, at least.
Which means I can't write anything for fun, words are definitely work.
And anything else I do I have my brain going "shouldn't you be writing, that's what pays the bills?"

I enjoy the game, but it's the kind of game where you reach a point where you must grind to access upgrades or story content (I could pay real money for some, but not all, of the upgrades, but the story content requires significant repeated missions)
Fun with friends, but I play solo, so...

Warframe dropped an update. I redownloaded the game, poked around for a few days, played the new content, now uninstalled the game.
It's an odd one, where I absolutely love the game but I'm at a point where engaging in it will require So. Much. Grind.
And I don't want to do that to my brain again.

I think the displays are about 600 sets. I have 650 in my spreadsheet but the metal sets are elsewhere and there's one advent calendar collection that didn't fit...
The wood displays are from glowcraft.com.au and can still be purchased. The acrylic are a KS from Kakapopotcg that are discontinued.

I mean, another option (I'm not sure if the residencies are financially supported somehow?) is to just rent a condo/hotel room in Banff or Canmore. Sit staring at the mountains and write your book.
(It's how I finished my last one. My partner looked at me, looked at my deadline, and sent me off :P)

One advent calendar collection of 24 sets is tucked away and I have an entire chest of duplicates, but the "main collection" is all in drawers with clear fronts of one sort or another.

In theory, the slots subdivide and one of the collections is of smaller sets... except that I was using these displays for larger sets and didn't keep all of the dividers.
I subdivided a bunch of other trays while organizing and now I have one divider left. Oof.

Well, after a hefty reorganization of my dice collection, I have 18 open display slots.
Unfortunately, the two remaining "collections" are of 23 and 24 dice sets respectively... so I'm going to need to split a collection and that is going to take more thought than I have this evening.
