There is so much parking — like 12-15 seconds of the car driving up to a spot, slowly pulling in, and the driver and passengers getting out and walking into a building while musical flourishes play.

With a second unit crew of union folks needed to shoot the driving and exteriors. On network shows now, that time is either commercials or showing some digital rendering of DNA or blood splatter.

I never thought about this but it is utterly true. And much of it not “learn about this character through their mundane actions” but literally just people pulling in and walking out of their car. 😂
