The best possible thing for Biden to do after that decrepit debate performance is to show himself on camera, frequently, in his element, so that people dismiss the debate as an aberration. And he should get angry. A lot.

I don’t think that is possible. My feeling is they hoped the debates would be ok enough that Biden could stay out of sight while Trump’s legal problems and diarrhea of the mouth filled up the empty news cycles.

I sorta feel like Biden should let his surrogates talk policy and he should stick to grandpa mode. He seemed to stumble mostly when trying to keep the numbers straight, but any time he was talking in generalities he seemed solid. Lean into it.

That's assuming he is reliably not decrepit in private, as many of his staff assert again and again. And I know one of his staff, who asserts the same thing whenever we speak. Who do we believe, though: them or our lying eyes?

I thought about that last night and couldn’t agree more but Biden should attend a White House press briefing and the minute Peter Doocy asked his regular dumb question Biden should take his head off and say exactly the same thing Trump said in “that was a stupid stupid question and tell him to leave
