For Disability Pride Month, one thing I'd love abled bodied people to figure out is how to speak to someone with chronic health issues without implying that if they themselves had the disabled person's health conditions, they would end it all. I promise you life goes on- even with health issues.

In case it wasn't clear my capacity to work is even more diminished and I border on incontinent, which isn't something I enjoy admitting 🫠. It makes getting out hard. I've multiple intestinal ulcers right now and treatment isn't working.
If anyone can help, please do.

I just like talking about films. And sharing that love.
This is probably, in truth, a couple of projects away- I've got a commission to do first, and then I want to finish my fiction piece and put that out.

Every now and then I think about doing the little horror newsletter thing where I talk about films and do a little illustration. maybe an old film, a new film, and one I've seen before? With pixel art. But I dunno if that's something anyone would be into.

Cobweb was ok. It had some great tension, lighting and a bit of a Del Toro fairytale vibe but, again, let it all down with an exposition dump near the end and a bit of a lacklustre, vague ending.

To be clear I meant awful, not artful. Thanks phone.

The guy who wrote this ALSO wrote the awful 2022 TCSM?! That's surprising because that film was. Artful.

You know, so far Cobweb is pretty enjoyable, and doing well at keeping up the tension. It has a good use of light and shadow too.

One thing that is quite funny is that I saw the kid and without knowing much I was like "that's a Busey" and IT IS. Gary Busey's son.

I'm going to watch Cobweb now. I've heard good things. If the things I heard were in fact wrong, I'm holding the entire internet accountable.

I don't understand why, if my partner has issues (which he does with the CF) I can be understanding but as soon as it's me, I struggle. It's a weird, stupid brain thing. Im sorry you go through it too.

I don't think I've actually had any issues for a while now, at least 3/4 months but there was a point and probably will be again in future that I needed constant, reliable toilet access and I may still very well end up with a colostomy bag. Honestly that would be a blessing at this point.

This is embarrassing because, well. I'm not even, 30. Luckily partner #1 has similar issues so I don't feel so "alone", even when I feel useless about it. It's embarrassing to discuss but if I'm open about everything else I should be open about this too.

By "bordering on", I mean that sometimes, during especially bad spasms, I am. My gut goes from 0-100 incredibly fast, with 0 being "don't need the loo" and 100 being "if I don't get to the loo within 30 seconds there will be trouble" and I still can't predict much of why or how.

God I might have to ask him about the Japanese DVD route 😅. Not least because of the Miike stuff that's difficult to get hold of.

He was like "I didn't think you'd know who he was!" and it was just like. Do you KNOW ME? But yeah his name is in the credits somewhere.

I keep wondering if asking my Japanese fam is worth a shot because games I buy from there come with English subs, but I don't know. My uncle does work in translation (I found out a few years ago that he actually translated one of Takeshi Miike's films- the yokai one).

I recently found out they've removed Noroi and I am GLAD I have a hard copy of that burned to disc from borrowing it years ago... I just need to dig it up 😅.
I think the services I watch the most are torn between Shudder and Crunchyroll tbh.

It was on Netflix this end. Honestly, in terms of movies they produce Shudder are no better or worse than anywhere else. It's just nice to have a horror centered thing and it has enabled me to watch a bunch of films that were on my watch list.

GOD YUP. By that point I was already like "Oh god this dips so hard". I don't understand why films think I need every answer laid out to me in everything! It is infuriating.

Ok I'm going to watch Stranger Things which is the most 7/10 thing ever, but enjoyable comfortable nostalgia for an 80s that exists entirely in pop culture references.

Honestly I'm trying to get some money into savings as well as keeping on paying bills and contributing to household expenses. But even as little as £100 could sort me out.

I'll adapt to this being my new normal at some point. I'll get used to the pain and knowing when and where I'm going to struggle with toilet access and stuff like that but the longer this goes on the longer the chance I'm going to struggle at recovering.

And by hoping I mean I've written a good 1/3 of it and plotted the whole thing, and the draft/plot will be up my my Patreon on the 15th of this month. In addition to that I'm trying to keep going with art.

If you like my pixel art and want to support me and future endeavours, follow the link. I'm still really sick with Crohns Colitis and multiple stomach and intestinal ulcers. Anyway, financial support during this difficult time would be appreciated :).
