I ended up doing something in the middle, having a 2-color limited pallet that changes. Which for me is faster so I don’t have to mix all the colors in watercolor. But I’m also using watercolor which people might think me crazy for but, eh

I recommend LA Zine Fest and Comic Arts LA (CALA) even big old SDCC has a LOT of people selling comics still, especially with artist alley and small press.

I’ve been listening a lot to Alula’s theme on repeat lately. Things have still been rough and the song gives me comfort. It’s a melody that plods along cheerful and tottering but with an underlying melancholy. It helps me feel like I can keep going even when I feel discouraged.

The pain fades but never fully goes away. The hoops “girls shows” have to jump through despite being made by Lauren Faust is unreal. Heaven forbid women want to make their own original IP instead of adapting existing ones.

There’s so many that people don’t even know of too. I was on Lauren Faust’s Toil and Trouble over at Netflix and I will ever be gutted no one will ever see all the work we poured into it before it was cancelled before even being announced, and we were just about to start animation.
