I've always liked illustrating the images in my head, but I never was quite satisfied with it The ultimate catalyst was finding out about pixelart, probably - a medium that is so about control, to me it was a hope that I could just grind my way to perfect satisfaction

i‘m also more hopeful that it will move beyond a fun mathematical toy and a needlessly complicated way of doing things we already have technology for, but we‘ll have to wait and see. again, thanks for sharing, always like to hear a different perspective :3

thanks for explaining! while i personally see AI is a bit more impressive than you‘re saying (in the cases where it’s not just blatant plagiarism), i completely agree that it doesn’t live up to the hype at all. [1/2]

curious why you think it’s a technological mediocrity. to be clear, i‘m wholeheartedly anti-GenAI, but i think the math behind neural networks is cool
