If I’m Merchan I’m interpreting literally all evidence in his trial was unofficial business and imposing the sentence. Make some appeal do the Supremes dirty work.

I don’t see why Merchan has to hew precisely to the SCOTUS dicta if SCOTUS doesn’t have to follow the Constitution at all. He can apply his own judgment to their dicta.

Yeah you would think it by now somebody like him might recognize that there is no legitimate process and just do what you can against these jerk a**es but never doubt for one second legal people to believe in the system beyond its own existence.
