My wife and I booked a 2 week road trip to Nova Scotia in September of 2022. We were to drive north from the NY metro area, stopping in Maine to visit some friends, then head on up to Canada. Fiona hit the day before we were due to leave. We drove up anyway and hung around Maine for a few days. (1)

We called the hotels where we had reservations in and around Nova Scotia to see if it was safe for us to come up. Only one hotel even answered the phone and their assessment was grim. So we rerouted and headed into Quebec City to spend the week in Old Quebec, where we greatly enjoyed ourselves. (2)
