We called the hotels where we had reservations in and around Nova Scotia to see if it was safe for us to come up. Only one hotel even answered the phone and their assessment was grim. So we rerouted and headed into Quebec City to spend the week in Old Quebec, where we greatly enjoyed ourselves. (2)

We felt terrible for what had befallen Nova Scotia. In 2012 we incurred the wrath of super storm Sandy so we understood what the residents of Nova Scotia were going through. Fear, anxiety, the loss of personal property, homelessness, bureaucratic red tape and grifters galore. Fun times.
