We felt terrible for what had befallen Nova Scotia. In 2012 we incurred the wrath of super storm Sandy so we understood what the residents of Nova Scotia were going through. Fear, anxiety, the loss of personal property, homelessness, bureaucratic red tape and grifters galore. Fun times.

We called the hotels where we had reservations in and around Nova Scotia to see if it was safe for us to come up. Only one hotel even answered the phone and their assessment was grim. So we rerouted and headed into Quebec City to spend the week in Old Quebec, where we greatly enjoyed ourselves. (2)

My wife and I booked a 2 week road trip to Nova Scotia in September of 2022. We were to drive north from the NY metro area, stopping in Maine to visit some friends, then head on up to Canada. Fiona hit the day before we were due to leave. We drove up anyway and hung around Maine for a few days. (1)

I was completely unaware that Dells are a product of Texas. For many years I swore by Hewlett Packard products (they have subsequently slipped) even though it galled me to support Texas in any way. I have always been a prick about financially supporting states that treat people like shit.

Oops, correction. In January 1974 I spent the night sleeping in El Paso and woke up in the morning to a quarter of an inch of snow and that they had shut down the city because of it. By 10:00 a.m. it was gone. 😂

I've been all around the US many times & have always avoided Texas like the plague. If I was forced to pass through it I drove until I was out of the state. It's one of the few states that I've never spent a night sleeping in. Uh oh, I love my Dell & used many HP products while I was still working.
