Curious what your doc saw. I had a hip replacement at 47, likely bc the asthma meds I took as a kid jacked me up. Fwiw the recovery was a lot worse than I was led to believe

my hips are misaligned as a consequence of an autoimmune disorder i had in my youth. so one of them is under undue stress from being in a weird position, and to a lesser extent so is the other one as my body tries to compensate for it
