I think it's mostly timing, so you have to repost yourself, but then people often have reposts off or use a Feed that doesn't show them-so you have to hope someone else sees and shares so more see that and share from there, or quote your own post. People also seem fairly adverse to resharing

Yeah I've noticed that. People on bsky just seem to not like reposting or even seeing reposts, only organic posts. On one hand, I get wanting to see mostly new stuff, but on the other hand it's difficult to get reach if it's on a post that's more than 12 hrs old.
