I wish there was a way to *volunteer* for jury duty. Pick me, courts! I was just summoned but didn’t have to report, and I’m so bummed. (I also have a corporate job that pays time off for jury duty, and I realize not everyone is afforded that!)

I used to love jury duty! Lunch breaks were for touring the city by bus, reading paperbacks, and walking up and down the fifteen flights of stairs to the courtroom for exercise. It was a mini vacation from work. But as a freelancer, 😩.
