I once read that there is a lot of folklore surrounding mills because the idea of machinery doing labour for free made people uneasy, but the claim has proven impossible to google mostly because “Mills” is such a common name.

They’re not even particularly original about it. It’s very obvious when they talk about “women’s rights” they’re talking about benevolent sexism/chivalry. It’s why defining (the right kind of deserving) woman is so important to them.

One thing I've always found really weird about work is how when you're on vacation people on your team stop doing their parts of the project you're working on until you're back. I have never in my life done this unless I was legit blocked. I don't get it.

My pug is in remarkably good shape for his age such that even the vet tech was like "no, he can't be that old???" but I double checked my emails from when we answered the ad for him and he is indeed *that old*. We got him in 2011 when he was already ~1 year 3 months.
