My family is of Southern Italian descent. I told my Dad my husband and I are planning on a Northern Italy & Croatia trip after our Scotland trip, and he was like "Why would you want to not just go to Southern Italy?" Gee, no idea.

Never been, but we did Venice, Trieste & Croatia in addition to Slovenia & it was glorious.
