I have to have cleaning people - pick a joint there's a permanent injury - and they all agree Dysons are overpriced and prone to breaking down.

I bought the Shark HV301 Rocket Ultra-Light Corded Bagless, but that is because I have shoulder injuries. Works well on a short napped rug in between cleaning people sessions. I think cordless would be easier to empty, but the corded version has some oomph.

And that the Democratic Party is in an uproar instead of forging a clear message.
It's a larger picture than just one debate for me.

That's great - please help us win this one.
I'm actually not grossly upset after the debate - they rarely sway undecided voters this far out anyway.
I'm upset the GOP understands Trump is their best shot to enact Project 2025, and there are still undecided voters.

To be clear: I hold a deep cynicism when it comes to the US electorate and the current state of partisan politics, and feel as if the past few years are inching me closer to full-on misanthropy.
But there's more than enough humanity left to help where I can.

...and by the time I came back out, the ambulance was there and the man was being put on a stretcher. Cop saw me and gave me a thumbs up as I went by.
I have no faith in certain parts of humanity today, but I will be damned if I give up mine.

On the way up to my neighborhood grocery store, I encountered a man lying in the middle of the sidewalk. People just stepping over him. I asked if he was okay, got a vague wave, and then got the cop in the grocery store 250 ft away to take a look at him...

I will relish this look on your face as the GOP behind Project 2025 strip your rights and you honestly thought Trump and the rest of them had the country's best intentions at heart.
They only have their greed at heart, plain and simple, and will walk all over everyone who isn't them accordingly.

I can't source the version of this that comes with the "F*ck This Sh*t" caption, so you'll have to imagine it.
Laptop closed for a while.
I'm also going to let my raging cynicism show and say if you're still an undecided voter, you deserve what's coming.

"That's where Suni Lee is from!"

Oh, in the Google Map screenshot, I added a purple red star just to the west of the Wabasha Street Bridge - that's where I was standing taking that picture down towards City House and the High Bridge.

The Mississippi River flooding has crested in St. Paul today!
For reference, it was at a more usual 9 feet back at the beginning of the month - now it's at 20.
Also note how the path system very clearly visible in the satellite picture is gone.

I've been toddling down to the river every day - the side effect of being a former field geologist is this stuff just makes your day.
I just came back from Upper Landing Park - it is very, very flooded. City House had to close this week, and it's in the middle of a pond today.

St. Paul Flooding watchers - the water gauge at the base of the Robert Street Bridge has a camera, and the USGS updates pictures hourly! They even have the past five days assembled as a video so you can watch the creep of the water.

The biggest mistake we made when leaving Eau Claire was trusting the realtor who ASSURED US multiple times that what people were looking for was an empty house in our price range. It finally sold when I was about to demand he pay for staging it, because clearly that wasn't what people looked for.

The correct response to Chevron being overturned is for every single environmental group to start filing millions of lawsuits, right now, today, arguing that various regulatory decisions didn't go far enough.

This was from Cherokee Ave yesterday. From the actual High Bridge Overlook you could tell the water was high, but the drama was a bit low. I walked down the hill to the first bench and could see a bit better.

I have been at a loss at these debates why the moderators allow the pivots completely off-topic, as well. Debates in the have just become pointless - if a candidate feels weak on a topic, they just pivot away from it. And it's allowed.
But hey - makes for good meme generation, I guess.

CNN learned not one f*cking thing from 2016...except that Trump pulls in ratings. The way they aired his rallies in their entirety always frosted me, and I guess they're not actually turning off mikes like they promised. Makes for better ratings and drives traffic for their clips.

I clicked through because I have to admit, whoever does this trolling stuff for Biden does a solid job. These are the images of the can from his website (which you can buy for $4.60, presumably a nod to POTUS #46).

While I am not watching the debate, I am following it on Wonkette. They noted that Biden tweeted this about a half hour before the debate (legit, it's his personal site - and please note I'm CDT hence the timestamp):

The current wasn't strong on the fringes but another woman and I just looked at each other and were saying, "He knows that's not smart, doesn't he?" She was worried about the current, I was thinking about whether or not he had any open skin to worry about.
The wonder is gone, indeed.
