Don't get me wrong, I go soppy too, seeing Gordon Brown and Ange embrace and vow to make tackling child poverty an urgent priority. Just WHY then does Starmer keep ruling out ending the two-child cap? It's the one thing all CP campaigns agree on. How the fuck can it harm Labour now? God-uh.
He hasn't said he won't, just that they can't do it straight away without driving a coach and horses through our spending plans. Gordon seems to have forgotten that for the first 2 years he was very tight on spending as well.
As I understand it, he hasn't promised not to end it, he's just not promising to end it, which is a different thing.
My guess is it'll go pretty quick if/when Labour win.
