Snotty ass idiots a decade or so ago: oh, you want an electric car, it's just going to use coal energy!
Me even then, holding my tongue to not cause a scene: it uses electricity, where sources don't matter and it's better to carbon control a single plant than a million+ cars in regulations anyway..
Dutch energy providers are now charging people with solar panels on their roof for returning excess energy onto the grid. This is a perfect example of how a nationalised industry is preferable over privatised one. Why build power stations when all that's needed nowadays are giant batteries.
