I clicked on a YouTube video about the allegations and it was a TERF taking a victory lap, going on about how he was a bad writer and she saw it coming. Sucks all around to find out someone who was pro-diversity and trans rights and did a lot of good charity work in the Middle East is an abuser.

Protesting doesn't have to be about voting or not voting. Ask them to hold true to the majority opinion on the issue or what international institutions are pressing for. Break shit even. There are arguments other than withholding a vote I'm not spending any more time on this. Please leave me alone.

Here more: support anti zionist labour unions, support legal funds pushing for recognition of genocide, focus on local races You focus on one thing I say to the exclusion of everything coz you're more interested in winning an argument

Yes, actually. Politicians set their agenda based on exit polls. Why is the only solution you advocate for one built on inaction? I empathise with the abandon movement but I honestly think all it'll result in is the Dems losing and giving way to a regime far worse.

Put pressure via protests. Take part in the exit polls to make clear that Gaza is a major issue and is contingent on getting your vote. Call your local reps. Those are all things aside from the vote that have an impact right now rather than not showing up in November.

Yes, I know people in Gaza. I do charity work with refugees and immigration and naturalisation foundations, so I have to interact with them constantly. I'll tell you this: this work would be illegal under Republican leadership.

One thing that does give me faith is that when you tell republicans what their party platform is, they are usually shocked and appalled. Many just outright live in such a media bubble that they never hear about it, like with the shock many had around abortion.

While I agree that there's party-infighting, you know who will actually get rid of them? The republicans. They will have even fewer allies if Trump wins. Voting will also signal to the centrists in the party that they need to lean even further right, like it does EVERY TIME reps win.

That one, I mean more from the perspective of the political class than the average person. They don't exactly have the best policies in dealing with the former colonies, and while it isn't on the average 20-something in Venlo's mind, it has never been a disqualifying factor either.

In the NL, very individualistic culture with pro-banking and heavy financialisation policies. Lots of cultural fractures (they still argue black-face over here). Post-colonial hangover with insecurity about their place in the world. Rural-urban divide with a lot of anti-immigration sentiment.
