Being on the east coast it was mostly stories of oranges rotting on the trees in Florida or being given away if people wanted to show up because there just weren't enough people to pick them and take care of the trees. Alabama growers likewise had crops rotting in the fields.

States like Florida with inhumane, racist policies and laws targeting undocumented immigrants have already seen shortages of farm workers. In NC I shared lamb meat with Latino friends and neighbors and in return heard community news including what they got from migrant workers passing through.

1) Losing Jane McAlevey sucks hard. 2) The "we're going to hold out until the writers lose their houses" statement during the WGA didn't just fortify the writers, it genuinely radicalized some managers and agents I know. People really do not know what capital thinks of them. To wit ... they don't.
