It was mine, because that’s actually an old engineering joke I remembered from my physics days. Their equivalent of “a perfectly spherical cow”. So it was a wink. And then Cameron used it *unironically*.

There's a "view from nowhere" version of impartiality that's baked into the genes of the US mainstream press, and it's requiring greater and greater bits of acrobatics to sell the illusion of normalcy. To the point where the cognitive dissonance is unavoidable.

When "tough on crime 🙄" goes wrong. Police chases are almost always more of a threat to public safety than the crimes themselves.

Unfortunately, this is not just the abstract manifesto of a feverish mind. It comes with concrete plans and a detailed strategy of how to take over and transform government into an autocratic revenge machine that can impose a reactionary vision against the will of the majority. /end

Kevin Roberts believes he’s a noble defender of “real America” against a totalitarian “woke,” “globalist” assault from without and within.

“Project 2025” is his declaration of war on multiracial pluralism.

I wrote about his extremist worldview here:

That quote was actually relevant in the case I was on. Drug dealer WROTE HIS NAME on the front of his notebook where he kept a list of his prices for his product. Even the jury was like “Dude! It’s not middle school. No other dealers going to accidentally take your notebook!”

I pulled out my earbuds at one moment and overheard a defense attorney at the next table say, I’m tired voice. “You’re adding more felonies as you talk. Please stop adding felonies.”

That experience was amazing, because before then I’d never realized a courthouse cafeteria in the morning is full of defense lawyers patiently trying to talk their clients out of making bad decisions. For hours!

Taraji P. Henson did a huge public service calling out Project 2025. Earlier today, Kevin Roberts, chair of Project 2025, threatened violence: "We are in the process of the second American Revolution, which will remain bloodless if the left allows it to be." It's Christofascism. Make no mistake.

Look at the leftist candidates in France “if we’re splitting the vote and the Right may win, the lowest leftist drops out.” This is what real leftists do. Strategize, prioritize.

And the fact you feel that way is the fault of the Electoral College, which is the REAL problem (well, the actual fixable real problem is the Apportionment Act of 1929, but that’s another thread)

No, it’s a prerequisite, until you have that, a third party vote in the US is a spoiler vote. That’s the reality -and the consequences of that reality - you keep dodging.

You know, I get that. But I’m very leery of people treating their vote as symbolic or irrelevant. Because there’s a threshold when it suddenly isn’t, and none of us know when that is.
