For the entirety of the Trump years we've heard about all these Rs who can't stand him, privately disagree with him, can't wait for him to be gone. The fact that so few have had the stones to say it out loud tells me that courage is in short supply there, or the so-called anti-Trumpers were lying.

New data from Texas shows a possible consequence of abortion bans: a rise in infant mortality. In 2022, after a six-week abortion ban took effect, deaths of infants before their first birthdays increased 13%, driven by birth defects, an analysis showed.

But another key element of this is that, while everyone talks about the 'Biden on drugs' BS, they're NOT talking about abortion, or Project 2025, the felonies and indictments. And it helps keep the age thing in the cycle, too. Trump is still driving the narrative where he wants.

Some good news in the midst of a scary week: MAGA infighting continues to tear the GOP apart on the state and local level. Democrats are benefitting.

Lauren Boebert looks positively sane compared to some of this year's fresh crop of MAGA candidates.

I suspect they're also okay with an authoritarian because they believe they are part of the "in" group, not realizing that authoritarians always shrink the "in" group because they always need someone to attack.

Close call today. While kayaking, I dropped my phone in the water. It was not in a waterproof case. Like a fool I reached to grab it before it sank out of sight. Then I remembered: The battery. I pulled my hand back just in time. My phone is gone, but I evaded almost certain electrocution.

Hunter Biden's trial was supposed to be the salvation for the GOP.

Instead, it's proving the difference between the parties. Democrats are not getting defensive, lying, or spreading conspiracies. If he gets convicted, they accept rule of law.
