haha yes this is basically what I said, something like "It's a good reminder to treat the world and people nicely if I think maybe someone amazing made all this and if I treated it badly I would be messing up their masterpiece and making them really sad, even if I don't believe that's literally it."

I’ve gotten to a point personally where whatever mental gymnastics or internal narratives people need to adopt to not be selfish assholes are fine, do it, I’d rather live among mildly delusional people who are kind than sneering, brutally realist assholes.
