Does this mean links to Twitter accounts are just… not going to work? Cause if so, I gotta go scream a bit.

As the article explains, it means that if you post a link to "netflitwitter.com" it will appear in the iOS app as "netflix.com" - "twitter" anyplace within a url is replaced to read "x" - but will still send anyone who clicks it to "netflitwitter.com". Was available, could have been used to phish.
