I think you are confused. They are this way to their own group. They are not this way to the out-group. Conservatives tend to have higher SDO (Social dominance orientation) - which makes following the leader and being better than an out-group a higher priority. It is fear based.

"Fine" is not a strong word! 😉 Still makes me think there are no grand-slams. Small/scrappy theaters that have nothing to lose can take all that risk, and the big theaters just grab the hits. I'll throw in that I'm cynical, just for perspective. 😁

I hate that Clinton started this idea that the wives of presidents should become presidents. Forgoing her, Michelle has said she has no interest in politics but no one listens. Proof we think it royalty - no one expects an auto mechanics wife to, by proxy, be good with an engine. 🤷♀️

Could it be as simple as... no one is writing new stuff? Or sometimes I think there is a glut of new stuff, but all of it is lukewarm. At times it seems to me that no one has anything to say anymore.. but all this is just a feeling.. I'm a bit outta the scene for a while...

IF such 'sex' robots exist in the future, it will just result in maladjusted humans. It would be masterbation +1, but still masterbation. And the stigma/taboo will probably still be strong in classifying such people as weirdness par excellence.

It's a stretch to try to put this into a gen-x category, tbh. All generations get more conservative as they get older, so there is that also... all-in-all gen-x is more prone to just keep their mouth shut. (We are practically invisible!)

I have to say I really like the “nothing to see here, move along” approach Bluesky has built into its block feature. Someone says something annoying and you block them? Neither you nor they nor any drama-seeking onlookers can see the exchange anymore. We all just get on with our lives.
