That quote was actually relevant in the case I was on. Drug dealer WROTE HIS NAME on the front of his notebook where he kept a list of his prices for his product. Even the jury was like “Dude! It’s not middle school. No other dealers going to accidentally take your notebook!”
I ... I want to say "I can't believe someone actually did that" but also, yeah, I completely believe someone actually did that. I would believe he doodled band logos and scary heavy metal faces on the front of the notebook. People are always gonna people.
In the “criminal threats” case I fored the guy *wrote* his threats, by hand, and sent them *from jail*. (Where he was after being arrested for DV against the same victim)
The most frustrating thing was how much I had to argue to convict him, and how none shits most of the cops she went to gave.
