The "bipartisan" immigration deal would not have fixed a broken immigration system. It would have broken it further by passing a Republican wish list of xenophobic, punitive policies.

I think its drastic increase in immigration judges would have helped the key issue of clearing out backlogs faster. That's something we need and should push for without the arbitrary limitations on who can ask for asylum.
