I wonder if the folks in the DNC who pushed for an early debate did so because they wanted this out early. But I may be attributing too much competence.
When it comes to this party there is something like Hanlon’s razor blades it goes 「 never attribute to competency that which can adequately be explained by malice 」
I think it was Biden people partially to get it out of the way. Also there is a bunch of evidence that voters are making up their minds now.. Certainly that was the theory of Obama reelection who started their ads in May considered early at the time.
