one thing about Roberts is that he really does seem to be in it for the love of the game (racism). the MAGA folks have convinced themselves to hate him. normie libs hate him. he just does this because black people voting makes him so angry he can’t help himself.

White America imposes existential threats on "others" without ever having to deal with that type of pervasive, 24-7, state-sanctioned oppression. But with MAGA types in charge, many white folks will also feel the sting. Note: chronic blood pressure and compromised life spans are part of the deal.

Racism is at the core of the vituperative, pathological sense of grievance from the right wing, but it's diffused throughout the US as well. Genocide against Native Americans, slavery, Jim Crow, lynchings, voter suppression, wealth theft ... one long, unbroken chain of cruelty against "the others."
