No shade to anyone who's posted or reposted this, because IMO this article is begging be misinterpreted, but no, Trump didn't do anything wrong by not walking directly to the probation office after the verdict. Judge Merchan told his attorneys that the clerk would get in touch about scheduling.

I appreciate that you don't try and blow sunshine up people's asses. I would've been frustrated by the end result without knowing why.

People need to check to make sure they're getting legal information about Trump from, with increasing reliability, a lawyer, a NY lawyer, a Manhattan lawyer, a Manhattan criminal defense lawyer. Or someone who got their infortmation from one of those.

However, I remain convinced that if he gets only probation, he will immediately violate the terms and return to Florida, where it will be very difficult to extract or punish him, and he will count on the inertia and hesitancy of the system to let him slide.

Would he be allowed to leave NY State pre-sentencing? If he gets a sentence of probation, would he be allowed to leave the state without advance permission?
