My issue is that their age isn’t the problem. It’s a proxy for the problem, which is their cognitive condition. If they were older but eloquent, sharp and well spoken, I think people would have fewer concerns about their age.

If Joe was sharp as a tac this wouldn’t be a conversation. But his diminishing capacity IS linked to his age. We’ll all get there if we’re lucky. But where he’s at is not fit for “leadership.” Cover aside.
