Pro Tip: Most paper publications live and die by advertiser dollars, NOT subs. The PAID subscription numbers drive ad prices. Clicks are nice and once drove prices, but since they can be schemed, paid subs are king. Boycott their advertisers, cancel your subscription.

I think it’s more to the point of policy. We learn so much from each other and make friendships. And while that’s valuable in terms of changing policy that impacts so many of the people - yelling or sharing links on social media can be a first step but overall it doesn’t do that.

I’d rather stay in the house all day, run in the darkest part of the morning, flee a country, and work for myself than ever be dependent on acceptance or approval in conditional relationships. And I most certainly won’t be being vulnerable with anyone anytime soon.

And in ways we’re all selfish bastards. We want what we want and almost everyone is a threat to that - unless they’re cool. Unless they’re in our specific labeled group, and adhere to the defined overriding shared viewpoint of our specific labeled group. Then it’s fuck em.

I just had this thought as I woke up: it’s going to take extreme calamity and crisis for America - and the west in general - to learn compassion and community. It’s bad, but it isn’t bad enough yet for people to do better.
