Reilly was a very large long haired cat - probably part Maine Coon. His oncologist told me that they have a shorter life span than some other breeds.

Alas, 'tis true. Most purebred cats have shorter lifespans on average. Egyptian Maus are one exception, because they are basically the same cat that Egyptians revered. Pixel was an Egyptian Mau with a congenital eye defect that made him unshowable & unsellable. I was incredibly lucky to receive him
