It is literally one bad debate performance. Biden has had other public appearances in which he was fine. The fact that people were already concerned about his frailty and he seemed frail helps explain the lack of a big polling shift, not this overreaction.

What I see in front of my face is hysteria. The problems with Biden appear almost entirely aesthetic. No stories of significant missteps in dealing with policy questions or world leaders, only anecdotes about brief memory lapses or verbal fumbles. Still way less demented than his opponent.

I actually think people are getting a bit over their skis on freaking out over Biden! We're talking about one terrible debate performance, something that can be turned around with a few good TV appearances. And bowing out could hurt Dem polling more than it helps.

Thank you. We've been so immersed in dealing with Loki, just trying to keep him going, that we haven't had much time to deal with our own grief. He's always been such a happy guy, I'm hoping as he feels better we can introduce a new companion for him.

I think that might have helped, but Reilly was euthanized at his oncologist's office and it's against the law here for them to release the body. Ours were also ~3 weeks apart but foster sibs. Loki picked me at the shelter, then insisted I take Reilly as well. They were fast friends for life.

Reilly wasn't purebred, but I think it's sort of like large breed dogs having shorter lifespans than small breed dogs. Same with large cats. And Reilly was a really large cat.

Reilly was a very large long haired cat - probably part Maine Coon. His oncologist told me that they have a shorter life span than some other breeds.

My cats stayed with my son's chihuahua too the last few weeks, Loki especially. The dog & Reilly didn't get along that well (Reilly weighed 20 lbs, Nikko weighed 5 lbs, Reilly lorded over him). When he had surgery 6 months before he died Loki stayed right with him.

He had a thorough check by the internist who was going to do the feeding tube, with mucho blood work. Only issue was low B12, & he gets a shot & weigh-in every week (we go tomorrow). I thought it had been ~3 months, but I checked & it's only 7 weeks since Reilly died. Just very hard 7 weeks.

I had no idea a cat could grieve so hard. I knew he grieved when my son's dog died (spent time batting his toys around & slept in his bed). But it was moderate & sweet. When Reilly died, Loki almost died of a broken heart. They're much more deep & intense little beings than I realized.

Also, staying awake in court and campaign rallies are Trump's only jobs right now, when he was in office he golfed and watched Fox and posted on Twitter all day instead of working. Biden is actually presidenting and campaigning.
