In February, I traveled to Clarksville, Tennessee, to meet Allie Phillips and spend a few hours canvassing her neighborhood, where she talked to people about one of the worst things that has ever happened to her — when she had to leave the state to terminate a nonviable pregnancy.

There was A LOT of repro news over the past two weeks, and you probably only heard about 25% of it if you're lucky. My latest legislative tracker highlights a whole lot more I wasn't even aware of until today.

Right! I got so many downvotes too when the Erowhon episode came out for saying you subscribed to support the main feed content too. I love MP because you can tell a TON of work goes into the episodes. I subscribe to acknowledge that too.
But maybe I’m just a triggered former newspaper reporter 🤪

And Aubrey has had a lot going on too! People keep blaming Michael for all of it and she’s been on a book and movie tour.

You would not believe how shitty people have been on Reddit. It’s ridiculous how entitled they feel about this. I have been downvoted so many times for simply defending you

NEW from me: Birmingham resident Hannah Miles has been trying to have a baby for more than 3 years, fighting obstacles like endometriosis, diminished ovarian reserve and cancer treatment that affected her husband’s sperm. She has one embryo left.

I'm launching an occasional series today featuring the personal stories of individuals who needed care before and after the Dobbs decision, and highlighting how much of their experience was shaped by what year — or even month — it was, and where they lived.

Before Dobbs, abortion was rarely an issue of such significance that individuals and national PACs would pour millions of dollars into state races. But it's a different story now.
I did a deep dive into where the money came from in two recent elections: Kansas and Ohio.

As part of her bedtime routine, my toddler has to have a little washcloth that she calls her “nose” cuz she uses it if her nose runs overnight. She didn’t use the one from last night, so I told her she didn’t need a new one.
So she then wiped her nose on it and asked me for a new one. 🙄

This is beyond shocking and enraging. It is the gravest dereliction of duty I can remember. My Lord.

I just want the Kansas Secretary of State to know it is not the greatest practice to have campaign finance reports that are 369 pages in length and scanned in from physical hard copies

I mean I know, but it makes no sense to me that that's the way it was devised. Voters elect the representative, but only other members of Congress can get them out before the next election? It feels wrong.

I really don't understand why members of Congress can be expelled but can't be recalled. It makes no sense to me.
