The study if you're curious and to be clear it does not make a causal link- it's retrospective and there are significant caveats. But it's the kind of study whose conclusions should encourage future studies that are better constructed

This is not a defense of Biden, the Democrats or anyone else. It is a critique of the media (which is kind of what I do a lot of) that outside of kind of the fringes is treating everything as normal instead of plainly detailing the risks the US are facing.

That is a conversation they should've had last year not four months before the election where rules make him difficult to replace and where the GOP is openly stating that if they replace him they're going to legally contest the replacement candidates inclusion on swing state ballots.

I grew up eating goat (Haitian American). I dont eat it anymore but not out of revulsion I just never liked it. It's a very darkly flavored meat. It's very common to eat in parts of Africa, the carribean. Way more than lamb.

The puffin was before their collapse! I'm not a monster (and their collapse was caused by climate change not heavy puffin harvesting). The issue is that the fish they need to feed baby puffins has migrated further from where they are

And you see this broadly across cultures. Strange to us meats weird us out in a way say strange to us fruits don't. There's no logical reason I refused to eat horse on France but was willing to give musk ox a try in Greenland except us culture says horse isn't food

I haven't fact checked this but cultural aversions to meat are some of the most deep seated according to a prof I had in college. It's why even when a person quits a religion say Islam with an aversion to pork they might still avoid it even if they say drink alcohol

In Vermont we'd periodically lose power if the storm was bad enough because of the weight of the snow would put tension on the lines. It'd always be less than 12 hours, usually overnight. The state is rural and low density so burying lines would be $$$$

It's not "normal" it's roughly 5% of households and the reason is e have more extreme weather than y'all. Yes there's issues with the grid- more Californians are getting it because of fire related power shutoffs but the people most likely to have home generators live in hurricane zones
