Why does the American military need to hide from its ally? US military could just boldly land a plane full of aid in Israel proper and operate from there. What is Israel going to do? Stop their largest ally?

it was a way to give a heap of money to defense contractors and a way to pretend the US was handling the situation in a humane way and it turns out it also was a way to slow aid to Gaza
