In some lights my eyes see only colour and shape, not much detail. My neighbour across the hall has skin and hair of almost exactly the same colour. I can’t tell when she is looking at me. I don’t know her well enough yet to explain my awkwardness without sounding horribly, horribly racist.

Yesterday I wrote to my local MP and two senior MPs to ask them to suspend AUKUS while the US works out what sort of country it is.
It takes a couple of minutes to write a polite e mail. Let’s let them know what we want.

It was for a rebate everyone received last year. I didn’t have an electricity account then so I thought I’d ask if it carried over to this financial year. I contacted the government e mail suggested by the VicGov app, they told me to go to Anglicare. That’s all I know, oh, and the rebate is over.

Today I contacted the Victorian state government to ask about an electricity bill rebate. I was referred to Anglicare, a religious organisation, for more information. A church doing state admin? That’s just handing our tax money to an organisation that tolerates the rape of children.
